He is risen

Matthew 28:6 ESV

He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.

Sometimes in life we have a hard time with trust. People betray us, lie to us, or hurt us in so many different ways. Its easy to doubt what people say when our trust has been broken, but there is One whom we never have to doubt. One who is consistent, unchangeable, and perfectly good.

The Bible tells us that, "He who promised is faithful." (Hebrews 10:23 ESV). And in Numbers 23:19 ESV, "God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?"

The Bible gives us so many reasons to trust God. He made promises and kept them, He never lied or cheated, He always kept His word. Jesus told His disciples in Matthew 17:22-23 ESV, "The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him, and he will be raised on the third day." We can trust these words because they were spoken by our perfect Savior. And when He died, despite all the undeserved pain and sorrow He endured, He still kept His word.

When the women went to His tomb they should not have been surprised to find it empty. He said He would rise, He told them what was to come and still it took them seeing Him to believe it. We dont need to see Him to believe Him. The proof is in His continued faithfulness; we can see that He has kept His promises, that He is still keeping His promises to us today.

So trust. Dont look to an empty tomb: He is not there, for He has risen. Just as He said He would.
