When our bodies fail us

Image
Right now you’re struggling, but I see you. More importantly, God sees you. Turn to the Bible           “Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!”  Psalm 34:8 When your body has taken so much of your freedom, and you feel like you’ve lost another one, it’s easy to feel sad and disappointed. Maybe today just sucks, but you will be ok when you find your refuge in Him, in His Word.           “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Psalm 73:26 You feel like your body has betrayed you, let you down. But remember, God is good, and His plan for us is good. Right now, it may be hard to feel that, to hear the words that should bring comfort. Read them once, and then again, and again until His Words echo in your mind.           “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for ...

"What then shall we do?"

What then shall we do? The Bible is filled with verses that teach us how to live our lives and how to use the many blessings and gifts God gives us. Many of us don’t like to be told how to spend our money or use our time, and it can be uncomfortable to hear that we may not be living as God requires. We are to give freely, generously, and even sel...

Starting the day with prayer

Image
It's easy to stumble our way through our morning routines and forget the most important thing we should be doing: prayer. God gives us every breath, every moment, every day, and we ought to start every day with this in mind. Start your day with thanksgiving to the One who made it. A prayer to start your day in the right mindset: Dear God and heavenly Father, Thank You for Your mercies new every day, and for this new morning. For the sun that brings light to wake me, and the breath in my lungs, You have given. Thank You for giving me another day to grow, to love, and to praise Your Holy Name. I see Your mercy, even in the small things, Lord. Grant me strength for what I cannot see, and for the challenges I may face this day. Fill me with Your Spirit that I may have patience for others and wisdom in making decisions. Remind me once again that Your power is made perfect in weakness, so that when I feel weak, I find my strength in You.  In Your love, please guide my steps, guard my ton...
