Titus 3 Grace Part 42

Titus 3:15

“Everyone with me sends you greetings. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all.”

Grace. Grace is where everything starts and ends.  Grace is where Paul begins and ends his letter as well. Grace makes salvation possible. By the grace of God, Christ brought us salvation. “For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age” (Titus 2:11-12). Grace makes it possible for us to do the good works that Paul has been teaching us about, and that God requires of us. It is by grace that we are justified and made heirs to the kingdom of heaven. Paul wrote, “So that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life” (Titus 3:7). By God’s grace, we are called and made willing and able to live a life that is marked by good works. Although it may seem that Paul’s letter is asking a lot of us, by grace, we can live this life to God’s glory and honor. What an amazing gift! How can we not strive, in thankfulness, to do what God asks when He has done so much for us?

1. The Bible speaks a lot about grace. Find a passage that talks about what grace has done for us. Think about what this means for you personally and for all Christians.

2. How many times does Paul mention grace in the letter to Titus? What message is he trying to portray each time?

3. Paul’s letter to Titus has been teaching us about Christian living and why we ought to live that way, but there are other passages and books in the Bible that also speak of this. James 2:14-17 gives us a reason for why we are to live godly lives. What is this reason?

4. Ephesians 2:8-9 is an important passage about grace. What can we learn from it?

5. How many times does Paul mention grace in the letter to Titus? What can we learn from each passage?

Dear God of grace and heavenly Father, I come before you now in humble gratitude for the amazing gift of grace that You have given. Thank You for the gift of life, salvation, and so much more. Your mercy and compassion are beyond comprehension, and I praise Your great and awesome name. Please fill me with Your Spirit and make me heartily willing and able to do good in this life. Forgive me when and where I fall short, Lord, for I know that of myself I am unable to do any good. Help me to be a light in this world and a shining example of godly living for others. In Jesus Name I ask all this, Amen
